STATE CAPITAL

Today consisted of another quick trip out of Boston and back, this time to the New York State capital, Albany. Once again, it’s a trip revisited as five years ago we played the same venue with Bo Ramsay and Pieta Brown.

The weather was perfect for flying and with Debbie treating us to Legal Seafood Crab Cakes, we floated across the beautiful countryside of up state New York. Did you know that Albany was one of the first cities in the world to have installed public water mains, sewer lines, natural gas lines and electricity, infrastructure and utilities that attracted and supported substantial new industry to the city and surrounding area during the 19th century.

Henrik Hansen and crew were with us today filming various elements of our day including our arrival into Albany International airport. He then popped up backstage throughout the afternoon in the beautiful Palace Theatre which was originally built in 1930 as an RKO movie palace. The restoration project which took place in 2003 saw the venue brought back to its original glory.

Once again we had a great, fun night to a packed hall and before we knew it we were tucking into pork ribs on the plane and coming into Boston once more. A couple of swift drinks in the bar and it was off to bed.
