    Hello,

    I would like make you (and Mr. Saggers) some questions;

    A) Could you let me know, please, what preamps and power tubes had MK on his Soldano SLO in 1991/92 tour, 1996 tour and 2001 tour?

    B) What microphones where used on MK’s Marshall cabinets during 1991/92 tour, 1996 tour and 2001 tour?
    Maybe AKG 414 ULS?

    Thanks very much!

    The Soldano SLO was designed with Philips 6L6GC power tubes. The preamp tubes were “Beijing” military-chinese 12AX7 (This factory closed in 1996).
    In 1988 the MK’s SLO were loaded with Philip 6L6GC power tubes and chines preamps tubes, as Mike Soldano told me, but i think they were changed during differents tours and recording sessions since 1998 to 2003.

    For that reason i would like to know what preamp/power tubes were loaded in SLO during 1992 to 1996 years.

    I’m not certain what the power tubes were, but there’s a very good chance that they were Sovtek 5881’s. That’s what Soldano was using at that time and I wouldn’t imagine that Mark would have made a change, but who knows.
