I suppose he had to laugh..Pete sent me this picture as Glenn arrived safely albeit a little battered after his 'epic' journey with Pete from Rotterdam via Paris on sumptuous Spanish trains. The great news is that he can fly with us tonight on to Madrid etc...

The fabulous Arts hotel in Barcelona does have extraordinary views and my room this time excelled. I couldn't resist another panoramic montage.

Mark's new amplifier setup consists of the red Marshall 4x12 cabinets as used on the last tour but the amps are new. Reinhardt. They sound pretty good to me! The Tone king situated in the middle acted up a little as demonstrated below. All in a day's work for the miraculous Colin Barton (who saved the day in Zaragoza a few years ago by rewiring the mains in the building when the PA went down, twice). The set-up in to Palau St. Jordi was delayed slightly because the rigging can be very difficult when the stage is set up nearer the centre of the hall. We do this in these big venues sometimes to configure them 'smaller'. The problem here is that the riggers cannot access the standard rigging points. They had to fly the PA from the very sides of the roof and when you look up and the sheer height of the building sinks in, it's a miracle they get it up at all. I tried to capture this unsuccessfully in the pic at the bottom of the page.

John McCusker and his amazing fiddle. what can you say about John, just listen to him.

Mark sound checks the National, something which he needs to do every show because of the unusual nature of the instrument.

ps. go back and check the late entry on the first Amsterdam page
